Two people died and one was injured in a weekend car crash along a Kentucky interstate.
The fatal car accident happened on the evening of Jan. 7. According to authorities, an elderly couple was trying to cross a lane of traffic on Interstate 23 in Wurtland when they hit another vehicle.
The elderly couple was reportedly in their 80’s. They died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the other vehicle was flown to a hospital to be treated for her injuries. Her condition is not known at this time.
All four lanes of Interstate 23 had to be shut down for hours. Officials are investigating the cause of the accident.
As authorities investigate the crash more closely, they will hopefully determine who was at fault. When drivers are negligent and cause harm to another person, they should be held responsible.
Those in Kentucky who have been injured in a car accident should consider working with an experienced attorney. An attorney can investigate the crash, and may be able to determine if another driver’s recklessness caused the accident. They may also be able to determine if road conditions contributed to the accident.
People expect that the roads they drive on will be safe, but that isn’t always the case. Unfortunately, another person’s negligence can cause major trauma for someone injured in an accident. In addition to the physical pain and suffering, a person may face large medical bills, as well as lost wages if they are unable to work because of their injuries. Luckily, those injured in a car accident may be eligible for compensation.
