Multiple members of a Kentucky family were recently arrested on drug charges. According to reports, Kentucky State Police were called to a home on May 11 for a reported fight. When law enforcement officers arrived, a woman told them that her husband and son were fighting inside the home.

Once inside, law enforcement officers claim they found a meth lab. A 40-year-old woman, her husband and their 18-year-old son were all arrested and have been charged with drug manufacturing. In addition, the 40-year-old man was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Reports indicate that he was convicted of federal drug possession charges in 2000.

Although the three family members face serious charges, it is important to note that accusations of a crime are very different from a conviction. In this country, everyone has the right to a fair trial and is entitled to a strong defense.

It is unclear how this specific case will turn out. However, Kentucky residents who face similar charges would be wise to rely on the expertise of a criminal defense attorney who has experience defending people against serious drug charges.

The criminal justice system is complex. However, an experienced attorney will have a broad understanding of the relevant laws. They will investigate the evidence in a case to ensure law enforcement acted appropriately while working towards a favorable outcome. Even if a person is found guilty of a crime, an attorney will fight for reduced penalties.
