A Covington man was recently arrested and charged with robbery two months to the day after a bank was robbed. For serious charges like robbery, the man would be wise to begin planning a strong criminal defense.
The 39-year-old man was arrested on Feb. 5 and was taken to the Kenton County Detention Center. Police claim that he man is responsible for robbing Huntington Bank on Madison Avenue in early December. His bond was set at $50,000.
Authorities say that the man who robbed the bank wore a camouflage jacket and black sweatpants. The man apparently demanded money from a bank teller through a note and indicated that he had a gun. However, no one ever saw that the man was holding an actual weapon.
Police have not said what led them to the 39-year-old man or what evidence they have to charge the man with robbery. Although police believe they have the right man, everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Anyone in Covington who is facing serious charges, such as robbery, would likely benefit from working with an experienced criminal defense attorney. An attorney can investigate a case to be sure that law enforcement acted responsibly. They can also sort through the evidence and prepare a meaningful defense against the charges.
The judicial system can be extremely confusing. A person who has been charged with a crime may feel scared and overwhelmed. Fortunately, an individual does not have to go through the process alone.
