At the beginning of October, Mark Castellano sat down with well-known TV talk show host, Dr. Phil, and denied murdering his ex-girlfriend Michelle Warner in Texas. Only two days after denying he was guilty, ABC News reported that Castellano confessed to police that he was responsible for Warner’s death. Castellano stated he “just couldn’t take it anymore.”
Charged with the murder of Michelle Warner, the 37-year-old defendant requested a court-appointed attorney to handle his case. His attorney may be capable of getting his charge reduced to aggravated manslaughter instead of murder if his defense can produce enough evidence to prove he acted in a spur-of-the-moment emotional state. An experienced attorney may also be able to prove that Castellano deserves a reduced sentence if they can show he is repentant and cooperative.
